On vacation in a tropical paradise or in a hospital bed, Justin Bieber has found no limitations on how to spread his pecs —and the importance of charity — to his huge army of pubescent fangirl zombies. He’s even dared to dance his high-tops right along the edges of puritan decency for the sake of his noble work by temporarily leaking a shot of his derriere via Instagram.
We all remember the all-too exciting view of Bieb-pecs and Bieb-abs at the pop icon’s performance in Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. Okay, maybe some do. Admittedly this writer did not even know Justin flashed his sea of Beliebers until two months after the fact.
Bieber, who seemed as shocked about his own partial nudity as some of his fans during his New Year’s Eve performance, recently admitted he is actually introducing a new strategy for pulling in millions for a wide range of charitable and philanthropic activities. Attention-grabbing spectacles in Europe of late have indulged his fans with partial nudity and other bonuses of salacious behavior as well.
Biebster’s previous campaign for charity, Believe, managed to bring in quite a lot of support. As this teen sensation moves ever-closer to his days of twenty-something twilight, however, the Biebs has had to get creative with his charity campaign. Unlike other teen celebrities who have ungracefully weathered their decline into dubious post-pubescent behavior and general irrelevance, he is turning it into a positive power for change. Besides flashing fans, he has resorted to other attention-grabbers like fainting spells, cussing out the paparazzi, and being fashionably late to his own shows.
Some might be criticizing Bieber’s waning popularity in recent months. But considering his commitment to charitable causes, it only makes sense that these recent cries for attention are actually part of his elaborate and ingenious plot to cull support for charity. After all, who can resist such a lean, frail form as his?
Bieber is on record as a prominent supporter of numerous charities and foundations. These include Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, City of Hope, Cure Duchenne, Food Bank For New York City, Give Back Hollywood Foundation, GRAMMY Foundation, It Gets Better Project, Jumpstart, KaBOOM!, Musicians on Call, Pencils of Promise, Red Cross and Usher’s New Look Foundation. That’s according to looktothestars.org in its tracking of celebrity giving.
Big names with similar giving patterns include the Jonas Brothers, Julianne Hough, Maroon 5 and Miley Cyrus, according to looktothestars.org. Bieber’s giving-back has especially benefited causes related to AIDS and HIV, at-risk and disadvantaged youths, cancer, children’s needs, disaster relief, education, health, human rights, hunger, literacy and poverty, as well as general philanthropy and creative arts support.
